Dr. Nusbaum, who has been in private practice since 1972, has practiced psychotherapy (from a Jungian perspective) and Biomedical Ethics in NJ, PA, CT and the greater New York City area. He is certified by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He was also a consultant at the Bancroft School in Haddonfield, NJ, and the New York Fertility Research Foundation in New York City for nearly a decade beginning in the late 1970s. In addition, he was a Fellow and Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Psychotherapy and a Fellow of The International Council of Sex Education and Parenthood of the American University.

Dr. Nusbaum earned an AB at Washington University (St. Louis 1967), followed by an MA (1971), and a PhD at The Hartford Seminary Foundation Consortium (1978). He was the author of a chapter, titled “The Country Place: An Intentional Therapeutic Community” in the graduate textbook Community, Self, and Identity, in 1978. He has served as a peer manuscript reviewer for the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Throughout his years in the mental health field, Dr. Nusbaum has lectured to professional groups as varied as Deborah Hospital, Pennsylvania Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University and Hospital, Temple University School of Medicine, and the San Diego Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Nusbaum has served on the board of directors of the Calcutta House AIDS Hospice, founded by Mother Theresa’s Missionary Brothers of Charity, and was a founding member of the Psychological Issues Section of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He has held memberships in the North American Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Mensa, and the New York Academy of Sciences. He has been cited in numerous editions of Who’s Who Among Human Services Professionals, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in the West, and Who’s Who in the World. Dr. Nusbaum was born in Berkeley, CA, is married (Barbara), has one son, Michael and one granddaughter, Doris.
